Victory 2010 conference. First day

First day of the Victory 2010 conferenceTuesday evening, 9th December, saw the first service of the Victory 2010 Conference held in Kyiv, Ukraine. Victory Church organises these conferences each year in early December. The event gathers pastors, ministers and members of the central Kyiv-based church as well as of all subsidiary congregations both in Ukraine and abroad. They flock to the conference to praise and worship the Lord, to receive encouragement and to get filled with the Holy Spirit to keep going through the next year.

This year's conference kicked off at an unusual venue – an enormous tent that was set up near the city centre in the area close to Lukyaniska metro station. Especially festive was the opening service. Singers, musicians, dancers and all the attendees opened their hearts to give our Lord praise, thanks and honour. They exercised talents and gifts which God lavishes on every person. A message on tithing was given by Mykhaylo Khyzhnyak, a pastor of Victory Church based in the town of Yalta, Ukraine.

The main speaker on that night was evangelist Richard Moor who has a calling to bring spiritual revival to churches and to take the news about Jesus to every nation, every city and town as well as to every heart. Three months ago in September, he had revival meetings in Kyiv. Those meetings saw a great number of people being healed, inspired and encouraged by God.

The sermon by Brother Richard dealt with several important aspects which are relevant to our success in bringing the Kingdom of God to others. One of them is obedience. As the speaker emphasised, not only is important to do what God commands, it is also important to have a desire to do this. The Bible says, "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land." Blessings come in the wake of someone being obedient. Jesus was obedient to His Father, and as a result of this, all of us have access to redemption and eternal life. Through obedience, you will be elevated to a new level of the relationship with God. The same applies to your growth in ministry.

Richard Moore inspired the audience to share the Gospel with the world. There is only one thing that makes Christianity stand out among all existing religions, and this is the manifestation of God's glory. The fire of God can exert radical changes on human lives. To have God work through us, we need to experience things described in the second chapter of the biblical book of Acts, when the Holy Spirit came on the expectant people in the form of fire. Now time has arrived that today's church receive this fire. It is a must to have the fire of God in our lives.

The service ended with Brother Richard praying for and laying hands on all pastors and ministers who had come to Kyiv from other areas. The following Conference services were held on 10th, 11th and 12th December.
